Two other Hungarian organizations that played a significant role in the Hungarian and regional innovation ecosystems won the membership - the Hungarian National Trading House Cls. and the AgroICT Cluster. Short English introduction about the organizations:
The European Commission promoted the creation of SERN which was officially launched at a major event in October 2015 at the Committee of Regions. Since then, SERN has been set up as a non for profit organisation with a strong commitment to support startups and its activities, in particular byfocussing on the mapping and promotion of support activities at regional level across Europe and by mobilizing regional resources to address relevant barriers to startups’ growth, such as harmonization of regulations, access to talent and to major research infrastructures. Their activities are based on two main pillars. On the one hand, assisted by their experts and extensive contacts they continuously search for Hungarian enterprises that could be competitive in external markets as well. On the other hand, with the help of their local trade houses established in the target countries they assess the demand of the given market and explore the potential business opportunities interesting from the point of view of the Hungarian companies. In recent years their priority was to help small and middle sized domestic enterprises that established innovative technologies and achieved great results in the area of research and development to enter external markets and consequently to support the export of Hungarian know-how.
